How to trade? Well, it's complicated. You can't, not directly anyway. You could buy/sell your stuffs through "Exchange" but could not trade directly with other players. "Exchange" is a NPC or rather a platform for players across-servers to trade their valuables. You could access to the NPC from all towns and even in some fields. Here's how the NPC looks like.
Once you're inside, you could browse manually or search for specific items to buy. For high-demand items, there will be a auction period where more than 1 buyers will be bidding for 1 item. When the duration ends, 1 player will be selected to successfully purchase the item and the failures will be refunded. There is no charges/fees for this process.
Next, if you want to sell your items, click on the Sell tab and click on your item. The price of the item will be determined by the system and you could not set the price manually. You will have to pay 1% of the current price as "stocking fee" and another 9% of the sold price as tax
(total of 10% if the price is unchanged).
Your item will only be in "Exchange" for 24 hours and if it is not sold within that period, your item will be returned.
Once you've sold an item or made a purchase, you need to go to the "Trade History" to claim your zeny or items. Here is my example.
