In order to catch more pets, you will need to buy Pet materials. Pet materials could be bought from NPC with colourful shells of through exchange with zeny. Each pet will require different materials so make sure to double check which pet you're going to catch.
In this guide, we will be catching Lunatic (cheapest to catch).
Lunatic will require 3 Rainbow Carrots (different pets will also require different amount).
Drag the carrot to "Item Bar" for easier to access.
Then, search for a Lunatic, click the one further from you so that you have enough time to respond and not killing it especially for range attackers. After that, click your carrot to "gift" it to the Lunatic. A bond will appear between you and the Lunatic.
You will have to click "Present" to gift another carrot to your Lunatic. Notice that the yellowish heart coming out of the Lunatic. Gifting more materials will result in more yellow hearts and the more the yellow heart, the higher your success rate (gift until all the red hearts disappear to get a 100% success rate). Click "Catch" with your last carrot.
A "slot-machine" will appear and if it aligns correctly, your catch will be successful and viola~ you got your pet.
Sidenote: You could pat your pet to increase the intimacy, at intimacy level 10, your pet could change its look. There are also certain equipment which certain pets could wear.
